Not Enough Traffic on Your Shopify Store? Here's What You Can Do

You've set up your Shopify store, added your products, created logos and branding.  But despite your efforts, you're not seeing the traffic you expected. Don't worry, you're not alone. Many Shopify store owners face the challenge of attracting enough visitors to their site. In this post, we'll explore some strategies to help you increase traffic and drive more sales.

How to Get More Traffic

There can be a wide array of reasons why your shopify store is not receiving your expected amount of views. We go into depth of a few of the reasons here.

Paid Advertising: Consider using paid advertising channels like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or Tik Tok Ads to reach a larger audience. Target your ads based on demographics, interests, and behaviour to maximise their effectiveness. Running advertising is a standard practise for most ecommerce businesses, I’d recommend using either facebook ads or tiktok ads as these two platforms are the ones that suit best for ecommerce.

Optimise Your Website for Search Engines (SEO): Make sure your store is optimised for relevant keywords. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner to find keywords with high search volume and low competition. Include these keywords in your product descriptions, meta tags, and URLs.

Another great way to find keywords can be to use the google related searches section. For example “baby strollers for boys” gives the following related searches, these are keywords you can use to place onto your blog posts and product descriptions. Just gives a little bit of insight into what customers may be searching when looking for your products on google.

Content Marketing(Blog Posts): Create high-quality, relevant blog posts using the shopify blogs system that appeals to your target audience. Aside from blog posts on your shopify store this chould be,  infographics, or podcasts. Share your content on social media and encourage others to share it as well. Creating links from your blogs to your products can be a good way to increase sales too.

Social Media Marketing: Use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest to promote your products. Post regularly and engage with your audience to build a loyal following.

Influencer Marketing: Partner with influencers in your niche to promote your products to their followers. This can help you reach a wider audience and build credibility. Direct messaging Instagram influencers can be a great way to achieve this in your product category, offering influencers a percentage of each sale or paying them a flat fee to feature your product.

Posting Schedule

Consistency is key when it comes to posting content. Create a posting schedule and stick to it. Whether you're posting on social media, publishing blog posts, or sending out emails, make sure you're regularly engaging with your audience.

For social media, aim to post at least once a day, but don't sacrifice quality for quantity. For blog posts, aim to publish new content at least once a week. For email marketing, send out newsletters or promotions on a regular basis, but avoid bombarding your subscribers with too many emails.

By following these strategies and maintaining a consistent posting schedule, you can drive more traffic to your Shopify store and increase your chances of making a sale. Experiment with different tactics to see what works best for your store and don't be afraid to adjust your strategy based on the results.
